We really like the ambiance here and the pasta was very similar to what we had in Italy, which I appreciated. The caviar appetizer was good, but not enough for the price. Cacio e Pepe was delicious!

Was looking for a restaurant close to the play we were seeing (Back to the Future) and found this gem only a couple of blocks away. Very romantic with an open kitchen toward the back. Nicely appointed bar in the front on the right when entering. We were greeted by the manager Yanoush (hope the spelling is correct). He gave us a very nice half moon booth so we were seated next to each other. He was extremely attentive and constantly viewing the kitchen, serving staff and tables to ensure everything was running smoothly. Our server was Eduardo and he was great. Excellent recommendations and very personable. The appetizer was a steak tartare which I make at home. Their version was very close to mine and was excellent! My rigatoni in vodka sauce and burrata cheese was superb. My wife is a lasagna fanatic and her dish was perhaps the best version she has ever had. She raved about how light and thin the noodles were. The chef (Yanis) took the time out to come to our table and explain how he was able to get that consistency. Apparently each individual pasta layer is given an ice bath and rested before using. Way above my pay grade but it works terrifically. Highly recommended for the food, ambiance and engaging staff.

This was a random choice but a good one. It is one of the many NYC Italian restaurants. Consider this upscale Italian. In short it was a good choice. The service was very friendly and welcoming. My chicken parm had plenty of melted cheese and good flavor in a great presentation. The decor was quite pleasant and relaxing. This is near the theater district so I would go here pre theater.

Great Italian restaurant in the city! I came here with my mom before a Broadway show and sat in the bar/lounge area. The restaurant was very cute, but next time I would probably request to be in the main dining area as the bar seating was a little close together. We started with some cocktails followed by a delicious bottle of Italian wine (can't remember the name). For the appetizer, we got one of the specials which was a hamachi crudo which was fantastic! For entrees, we split the Sea bass for 2 as well as the rigatoni with meat sauce. Everything was very good. And lastly we ended with the tiramisu and panna cotta. Both great but the tiramisu was huge!! Overall would definitely recommend.

I just had an absolutely fantastic dinner here! My job hosted a dinner this evening, and it was a complete 10 out of 10. The service was exceptional, ambiance was perfect, conversation across the entire table was audible and everything that I had was wonderful. Our meal started with several appetizers for the table: meatballs, burrata, and arincini. They all were wonderful. From there, our entire 3 course meal was served family style, so I was able to try everything on our curated menu. Favorite items that I enjoyed were: the filet mignon (very tender and juicy), roasted chicken with salsa verde (excellent), and the mashed potatoes were creamy and bursting with flavor. For dessert, the tiramisu was delicious. Overall, the meal was exceptional from start to finish and I would absolutely return (hopefully soon)!

Wow, we had an incredibly special birthday dinner for my fiancé here. The ambiance is perfect - upscale without feeling pretentious. The olive trees in the middle of the restaurant give a very Lisa Vanderpump / LA vibe. Elegant! The food was incredible. We had the rack of lamb and salmon - both great options. We then shared a ricotta lemon cheesecake for dessert, and it was BY FAR the best cheesecake I've ever had (I'm typically luke-warm on cheesecake). The bread was fresh and delicious as well! Our service was truly the memorable part of our experience. We had Walter as our server, and he was just incredible. Very friendly and willing to give recommendations, but also gave us space to enjoy the dinner ourselves. Over the roughly 2 hours, we came to become very friendly with Walter, and his level of service is something we haven't experienced in a while. WALTER THANK YOU for making the evening so perfect. Give this man a raise! Ultimately, we are excited to come back for special meals.

A group of 7 of us made a reservation for Osteria La Baia in advance. We wanted to have an Italian dinner one of the nights we were in NYC, and we came across this one. The restaurant is quite nice inside, very swanky inside. We came towards the end of dinner time, so there weren't too many people seated inside, and by the time we left, we were probably the only party still seated. We all shared a few bottles of wine for dinner. The server made some suggestions, but it felt like he was just trying to sell us the most expensive bottle and trying to take advantage of us. We just wanted some moderately priced wine, but he kept on trying to sell us the most expensive bottle and telling us there were no other options. Definitely a little pushy. We all got our own main dish and some appetizers to share. I got the Gnocchi Caprese dish. It was actually quite good. The burrata plus the basil pesto plus the red sauce made for quite a good combo. The gnocchi was nice and soft too. Solid choice. My fiancé got the tagliolini. It was a take on "cacio pepe." It was honestly very very chalky. It just didn't taste that good at all. There was just too much of one ingredient in there. Not a fan of this dish at all, but I do love "cacio pepe." Our table also shared two of the insalata la baia salads. It was a pretty flavorful salad packed with quite a few ingredients. I would've preferred the Caesar Salad though. Overall, Osteria La Baia is a nice place to go for dinner. It's definitely on the pricey side though, so keep that in mind. Ambiance is nice and it's perfect for a date night or a group outing too.

Went as walk-in so had to wait about half hour but did get seated quicker than that. The ambience was sophisticated and the food was good. Service could've been a bit better but it was after all a Saturday night with holiday attractions around us. For meal we shared the seafood soup of the day (yummy) octopus carpaccio (not my fav as it was cold - meant to be cold) and vongole (tasty). For dessert, we had the profiteroli al cioccolato for dessert and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely a place to try if you're around the neighborhood.
